Pakistan Army captain and major vacancy have been advertised for candidates who want to join Pak Army as Doctor captain/major through Short Service Commission (SSRC) in medical departments. Both male and female can apply to join Pak Army through online registration or by visiting Army selection center.
It is required that applicants have MBBS degree from a recognized institute by the Pakistan Dental and Medical Council. It is also necessary for candidates to meet the physical requirements.
In one month after MBBS, the Army Medical Corps School & Centre Abbottabad offers 22x weeks Basic Military Training (BMT), after which the Short Service Regular Commissions (SSRC) are inducted into the Military by GHQ PA Directorate.
Aspirants wishing to join the Pak Army as doctors will be recruited through the Short Service Regular Commission SSRC/Pakistan Temporary Commission PTC. Doctors selected for the program will be ranked as Majors or Captains.

Note
- Government institutes qualified candidates will be preferred.
- Candidates can also apply subject to hope certificate (less GDDOs) that is issued by the concerned institution. Interested candidates will not be considered for selection for the first half of 2024, if they didn’t deposit their certificates along with PMDC certificate to PA Directorate before the third week of March 2024.
- It will only be granted in the event that there aren’t enough candidates under 28 years of age to fill the quota.
Overseas Candidates (Pakistani Nationals)
Candidates from abroad can apply at the nearest Consulate General of Pakistan. Suitable candidates’ applications will be forwarded to the Personal Administration Directorate after being stamped as OVERSEAS. Approximately two weeks before Inter Service Selection Board/ General Headquarters Selection Board tests, the Personal Administration Directorate will inform you of the date and time of the preliminary tests.
Candidates are expected to report at nominated Army Selection and Recruitment Centres at the time and date specified for the preliminary tests. It will not be possible to change the date once it has been given. The prospectus fee and documents (as described in the advertisement) must be brought with the candidate on the day of the test. Since registration and testing will be conducted on computers, candidates must possess working knowledge of computers. Daily Allowance and Traveling Allowance will not be payable.

In Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates with specific higher qualifications are eligible even if they are twice rejected by the Inter Service Selection Board for the Pakistan Military Academy, the Army Training School, the Judiciary Course, or a course equivalent to the Naval Service or Pakistan Air Force.
- Once a candidate with specific higher qualifications has been rejected by the Inter Service Selection Board for entry into the Pakistan Military Academy, OTS, JCA, Graduate Course, or equivalent naval or Pakistan Air Force courses, and once rejected for entry into specific higher qualification courses, they are ineligible for a third opportunity.
- Permanently declared UNFIT by Appeal Medical board.
- Leaving any academy or training institute of the armed forces.
- Dismissed from any bonded military college/institution.
- A person who’s been dismissed, removed, or debarred from government services, including the armed forces.
- Having been convicted of a criminal offense with moral turpitude in a court of law.
- Unfit due to Hepatitis B and C (no appeal medical board can be requested).
- Any Armed Forces hospital has declared them unfit except those that have been cleared by the Appeal Medical Board.
Required Documents
- Certificates/ detailed mark sheets along with two attested photocopies of every educational certificate/ degree/ diploma.
- PTC officers, specialists, and GDMOs must submit two photocopies of their registration certificates of PM&DC.
- Attested photocopies of house job certificate, if already completed.
- No Objection Certificates are required of candidates serving in government institutions/departments.
- Attested photocopy of domicile.
- Photocopy of Computerized National Identity Card.
- Three colored photos (front and back), duly attested.
- Crossed postal order for Rs.100.00 to be delivered to DGPA, General Headquarters Rawalpindi.
- A successful candidate must make sure that all information asked is endorsed on the application forms provided by AS&RC, and no columns should be left blank.

Bond
Short Service Regular Commission (SSRC) GDMOs, GDDOs and Specialists
Candidates who are selected will be required to sign a bond committing to serve the Army for at least five years. Bonds will take effect when you complete basic military training at Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul Abbottabad.
Pakistan Temporary Commission (PTC)
All selected candidates will have to sign a bond for a minimum of two years (extendable) of service in the Army. Bonds will be applicable once the Pakistan Military Academy in Kakul Abbottabad has successfully completed basic military training.
Training Period
SSRC Cadets: Female and male SSRC cadets receive 22 weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) at Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul Abbottabad.
PTC Cadets: A 12-week training course at Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul Abbottabad.
